splashtop sos not running on new Windows 11 machine

Trying to run splashtop sos on a friend's computer I'm helping him set up.  It did run at least once, but now it starts, asks for OK to run, then says loading with dots in a circle, then just disappears.  Not in task manager at all.

Have rebooted several time.  Brand new Dell laptop with fresh Windows 11 installation with all updates.

I had him bring the laptop to me to check out, but can't find anything and don't know where to go from here (log file?).

I'm about ready to put Windows 10 back on the system, and, perhaps, do an upgrade to W11, vs. fresh Dell downloaded restore to factory setup.
