Increasing resolution on M1 iMac

I'm connecting to a Windows PC from an iMac. The display resolution on the PC is only 1920x1080 noted as 'recommended' in Settings, and that's the resolution I'm seeing full screen on my iMac. My iMac has a 4K display. Is there a way to get 4K resolution from the PC I'm connected to?
