Where and how do I create a Splashtop Account? I am a new Splashtop Personal user.

Welcome to Splashtop Personal (previously known as "Splashtop 2") !

Basically, you can create your Splashtop Account from either the iPad app, or computer running the Streamer v2.  Here are the guidelines for you to create your Splashtop Account.

Creating a Splashtop Account from your iPad:

1.  Launch the Splashtop Personal (Splashtop 2) app.  You should see a screen without any Streamer listed.  Tap the Settings icon (the Gear icon in the upper right).  You will then see a screen like the one shown below.  Click "Create an account".

SPID1.PNG

2.  In the Email and Confirm email fields, type an email address which is capable of receiving email from Splashtop.  Then type a password for your account  in the Password and Confirm password fields, shown below.

caution-icon.gif   Please heed the following rules when composing your password:  Your password MUST be between 6 ~ 20 characters long;  MUST contain both letters and numbers;  and may optionally contain the following special characters including the "space" char.  (Note:  Letters are case-sensitive, so uppercase and lowercase are treated as different.)

/  (  )  $  &  @  "  .  ,  !  '  [  ]  {  }  #  %  ^  *  _  |  ~  <  >

Or, if you are creating a Splashtop Account using the Streamer:

1.  Install Streamer v2 in your computer and launch it.  In the Status tab, you'll see a screen as pictured below.  Click "Create one" to create a Splashtop Account.

2.  When you see the screen shown below:  In the Email and Confirm Email fields, type an email address which is capable of receiving email from Splashtop.  Then type a password for your account  in the Password and Confirm Password fields.

/  (  )  $  &  @  "  .  ,  !  '  [  ]  {  }  #  %  ^  *  _  |  ~  <  >

Please connect your iPad and Streamer(s) to the Internet at least ONCE, so that you can log in to your Splashtop account on both the iPad and your computer(s).  Then you can connect your iPad to your Streamer within a local network.

note.gif  NOTE:  You still need the Anywhere Access Pack (AAP) if you want to connect your iPad to your Streamers from different networks (WiFi or 3G/4G).  Please check this link for how to purchase AAP.

    In my Splashtop Streamer, the "Create one" link does not work!  Neither does the "Forgot your password?" link.  The only link that works is "What is Splashtop 2?"  The other two links I try and try to click on, but nothing happens.  My cursor never even changes to indicate a link is present.  Please help!  I've even created a Support login, but apparently it does not work as a Splashtop 2 Streamer login!

    @Walker Hall,

    Sorry, it's a bug in Windows Streamer v2.0.0.4, please update to latest v2.1.0.4 to fix this issue.

    Welcome to Splashtop 2!

    So....  you guys saying that I just spent all this time setting up accounts, installing streamer/remote desktop on my desktop and notebook computers.... for absolutely nothing? The only device that has "Anywhere Access" is the stupid ipad??? If that's the case, why doesn't the website say anything about it?? Time is money and your shoddy and deceptive marketing ploy will likely backfire because you're pissing off the only demographic who who legally buys software. Stupid marketing department.

    @Andrew Kalionzes,

    Sorry about your frustration. If you are using Win client app, we do have plan to release a version with Splashtop account structure(no solid schedule yet), please stay tuned. I'll forward your case to our teams for further improvements.

    This has a Security issue and needs to be improved:

    1) When a user chooses a valid e-mail address to create an account, a verification e-mail should be sent to verify the person is not spoofing or hi-jacking someone elses e-mail for their account name

    2) There should be a way to change the e-mail address tied to a splashtop account in the future if the user suspends their e-mail address and can no longer receive e-mails on that address.  This should be done without loosing aap purchase history etc.

    Please comment on these 2 things

    @Paulecrimm ,

    1. With our design, we want to give Splashtop 2 users a simplest way to use this app ,so we don't want users to do more extra steps before using it. If someone registered an email address owned by another user, the only impact is the real user owned this email address can't register his email any more(will get an error 'this account is existing'). But this real user can click 'Fotgot password' and change the password to get it back. (our system will send an email with a reset password URL to this email address)

    2. We still don't provide this feature to change email address for a Splashtop account for users, but users can request this by submitting a support ticket(with AAP purchase proof), of course, it'll keep AAP purchase records.

    I created an account with Splashtop Streamer for Linux, and it works here, but doesn't work in Splashtop Streamer.  What's going on here?

    @Aaaaaagimhko4fn6qwx2tpkfiuswp43z,

    Have you logged in your Splashtop account on another client device like ipad, android phone...? I can't see any client device or computer logged in with your Splashtop account on our system.

    I had not done so, because I expected to configure the server first, to provide the client something to connect to.  However, while the iPad client sees the server, it complains of a wrong password as well.

    @Akram_alazra,

    Looks like you are using Splashtop for eno.

    Splashtop2 & Splashtop for eno are different products. If you are using Splashtop for eno, you have to install the Splashtop streamer for eno instead of Splashtop Streamer v2.x.  Splashtop streamer for eno is pre-bundled in latest Polyvision driver.

    When you install the Polyvision driver, there will be an option for "Splashtop for eno". (Menu will be shown after clicking "Customize"). Check this option, and you will be able to install Splashtop streamer for eno.

    Please refer to the instructions on this link [section "Easy as 1-2-3:"]

    I just purchased the AAP, but the android app doesn't see my computer. Desktop is running ubuntu 12.10 64bit. I've tried re-logging in both the streamer and the client, but still nothing.

    @Jos,

    we are guessing Streamer did not run normally on your target computer with Linux or some Streamer related processes might even crash, please try to quit Streamer and re-invoke Streamer by command line "$ python /opt/splashtop-streamer/SRStreamer.pyc" to see if there is any improvement.

    Thanks for the quick response. I've also tried with the windows client, and this blacked the desktop and changed the resolution, but then lost the connection. I've retried from the commandline as you suggest, and I see the following error:

    jos@arkws001 ~$ python /opt/splashtop-streamer/SRStreamer.pyc
    X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
    Major opcode of failed request: 140 (RANDR)

    I wonder however why the latest version is so difficult to find...

    I just purchased splashtop2 so I could access my computer using my iPad remotely. It worked while I was in the office and the computer and iPad were near each other however I am now home and I cannot gain access. I am getting a message that states I am trying to access the computer on different networks. What is causing this issue?

    @Derek1199,

    Splashtop 2 can connect within the local network, but it requires another Anywhere Access Pack activated for connections over Internet. This service relies on our own relay servers on Amazon, delivers a more fast, secure and reliable connections than v1 apps. However, it costs us a regular maintenance fee, so we charge users here. Hope you can understand.

    I've granted you 7-day free AAP,  welcome to have a try!

    Okay, I keep getting the Wrong Password error when I try to log in remotely.  I have purchased the Anywhere Access Pack.  I am running Streamer on the computer I am attempting to get into at work; I can SEE that computer, in fact, on Splashtop 2.  Your support site says that perhaps my account wasn't created???  Yet I can log on.  If I have to recreate the account, that means I cannot use my email addresss again. @Kosmith,

    Please disable "Blank screen" on streamer/Security tab to be a work around at this moment, it's a known issue on v2.0.2 and will be fixed in next update.

    Sorry for this trouble.

    OK, this is driving me crazy.  I have splashtop streamer running on two computers.  I have the anywhere access.  I can see both PCs I am using on the local network.  I try to connect and it always says "wrong password' .  I have done resets, reboots, and re-enters.  Nothing fixes this.  I have also removed almost all security settings to see what works...nothing.

    @Stephen,

    Please also log in the same Splahtop account as the the one logged in on your computer on your ipad, then your ipad can see and connect to your computer if they are in the same local network.

    I amusing an ASUS tablet, and as long as I am on my personal network, I can get to my pc just fine, but when I go to another network, it does not find my computer.  Can someone tell me what I can to do to access my computer for any network.  I have purchased the product and am finding this very frustrating.

    I have spent hours trying to get my computers to access each other, I have downloaded the apps, created an account, and downloaded the streamer onto each of the computers (1 laptop and 1 desktop) but each time i open Splashtop personal and login, it says it cannot see any computers. Is this because both computers are running Windows Vista?

    I keep trying to sign in but it says the Splashtop servers aren't responding and to try again later.  I've tried later several times.  Is it the servers or is something else wrong here?  Very frustrating as I'm trying to get everything set up to begin using Splashtop!
