Why does Soundflower still exist even uninstalling Streamer for Mac?

Soundflower is a 3rd party plug-in, Splashtop uses it to stream audio to handset device side. To uninstall it, please follow the steps below:

  1. Please go to Finder-> /System/Library/Extensions.
  2. Find Soundflower.kext.
  3. Remove it, then reboot your Mac.
  4. Soundflower plug-in will be fully removed from your Mac.

    This is ridiculous. I've been using Splashtop for years, and tonight it really screwed me over. Because of this Soundflower garbage, Proctorio refused to startup, meaning I was late launching my midterm. Thanks Splashtop.

    Sorry to hear that.

    We are not much familiar with Proctorio. Does it use Soundflower to stream audio as well?

    Could you let us know more details and let us know anything we can do to help to prevent the same issue recurs?

    Thank you.
