How to view your iPad/Android tablet as a third monitor or as a extended monitor without a physical video port?

Please install a virtual driver on your target computer to reach the requirement to:

  1. View your iPad as a third monitor to your system. (Which means you already have a secondary monitor physically plugged.)
  2. Use Extended Wireless Display 2 to build remote connections even there is only one physical display on your system.

Please follow steps below to install virtual driver for Extended Wireless Display 2:

  1. Install Streamer for Windows v2.5.5.x or later version on your target computer.
  2. Please go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server\Driver\STVideo" to install driver (Please right click on the install file and select "Run as administrator" before installing):
    a. Please run install.bat on Windows Vista or XP system.
    b. Please run installWin7.bat on Windows 7 32 bits system.
    c. Please run installWin7_64.bat on Windows 7 64 bits system.
  3. Reboot your computer.
  4. Build remote connection with Extended Wireless Display 2, it should work.

Note:

  1. The feature triggered by installing virtual driver supports both Extended Wireless Display 2 and XDisplay.
  2. Windows 8 or later version OS is not supported yet.
  3. Mac OS is not supported yet.
  4. It is just a beta feature, and the driver might crash your Streamer or computer, if encountering so, please go to Control Panel-> Device Manager-> Display adapters to remove Splashtop Virtual Video then restart your computer.

    I'm using my TV as a second monitor. But when I turn on the Xdiplay it became the same monitor as the TV. They two show the same thing. Is there a way to make Slashtop a 3th monitor? Separately from my TV and my main monitor?

    I'm trying to connect an iPad to a 32-bit Win7 machine. I ran installWin7.bat ("utils\devcon install stvideo.inf  STVideo_Driver_WIN7<linefeed> utils\Mirror2Extend.exe") but am not, after rebooting, seeing any result in the device manager.  Anyway, it's not under "Display adapters". Should it be? And the iPad app is still causing the "Why do I get a 'compatibility issue' warning message?" page to pop up on the Win7 machine.

    Suggestions, please.

    ...OK, looking again I see that an entry for Splashtop Virtual Video is supposed to appear under Display adapters as a result of running the batch file. It didn't.

    @Andyvphil,

    Please help to collect SPlog.txt at C:\Program Files (x86)\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server , I will work with engineering team to figure out what the issue is.

    I've had the same problem, ticket #74058 (still not resolved, I'm aware I let the ticket close).

    I've attached the SPlog.txt in a new ticket #76392

    Having the same issue, running W10 anniversary update on my laptop with an external monitor and try to use Splashtop personal as a 3rd screen. The above does not seem to make any changes after running the W764 driver and rebooting. 2nd screen worked fine under W8.1.

    @Ahannink,

    The solution is for Extended Wireless Display app, do you use Splashtop Personal or Extended Wireless Display?

    @Ahannink,

    We also can't guarantee that this could work on Windows 8 or later version Windows.
