I'm trying to use my ipad to extend my pc display, not just mirror it.  I've read through the comments and don't see a solution...That's possible, right?

    Hi,

Is there any solution to this yet? I have Mojave 10.14.4, iOS 12.2, Mac Splashtop XDisplay 1.3.1.3, iOS app - not sure of the version - it's the latest download.

It just doesn't work. The iOS app just spins there saying "Connecting... connecting..." etc.

I have tried every suggestion in the thread above but no luck and I don't see anything that definitively states that the problem is solved.

When I look at the XDisplay process on the Mac in Activity Monitor it does kick up a bit of CPU activity when I try to connect but nothing happens...

    Any ideas?

Could you please send us your logs and dxdiag information:

    1. Find the log file SWXDLog.txt.copy via the below path "%LocalAppData%\Splashtop\Splashtop Wired XDisplay"

    2. The dxdiag information:

Execute dxdiag.exe, save all information as file dxdiag.txt.

You can use the link at the top-right bottom of the page to submit a support request. Thanks!

Today, I install XDisplay on My Mac (Mojave 10.14.5)

I cannot remember exact message from MacOS.

But, there is error message similar that this library cannot use anymore recent MacOS.

And Then I ignore the message and continue to install XDisplay.

Finally XDisplay doesn't work. (I have used iPad and Windows normally)

I removed and reinstalled XDisplay on Mac. There is no message but XDisplay still didn't work.

I expect that MacOS update and some libraries are crashed so there is an error - I cannot know what libraries are crashed.

I really hope that you can help me for that error.

    Thanks.

I get the spinning wheel on the iPad Pro running n 12.2. Just did a fresh re-install and re-start as you've mentioned above, but still not working.

    Many thanks

Is anyone else using a VPN on a Mac while trying to connect an iPad display? I wasn't have any success until I disconnected from the VPN. After connecting the iPad I can turn the VPN back on. This may solve some people's issues!

One more thing--Is there a way to set the iPad in portrait view? For example, instead of 1280 x 720, set the resolution to something like 720 x 1280. I have tried some other software including SwitchResX and Resolution Switcher (Apple App Store) but the rotation option is only available for the built-in MacBook Pro display and not for the iPad (AirPlay) display! Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    @Quinnat:

It is possible to set the iPad in portrait mode without any additional software within your operating system like with any other external monitor. Once the external monitor which is the iPad in this case is set to portrait mode, you can rotate your device and use it as an extended monitor in portrait mode.

I tried connecting both devices to VPN but the connection does not complete. When I connect the iPad, my Mac must be detecting something because the Airplay menu pops down as if it is trying to connect but the name "XDSP"-etc never appears in that menu. By the way, to make it work, I only have to disconnect the MacBook's VPN connection. It's OK if the iPad is still on VPN. Hope this helps!

    Hi Luis,

have you tried using different resolution and frame rate settings?

Also under the Advanced tab you can try installing the virtual display driver and see if it improves the performance.

I tried this and all the other recommendations to extend my display from my XPS 13 to Ipad 2.

When I try to change the display setting, under "Multiple Displays" from anything but "show only on 1" the change is not made and I am seeing " The display settings could not be saved.  Please try a different combination of display settings."

I have tried removing the second display and then extending using "windows key + P" but still no luck.  It seems to be stuck on mirror mode

The latest XDisplay Agent installer (1.5.6.4) for Windows 10 won’t start - it just does nothing when I double-click on it. Can anyone offer a solution?

I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to macOS Catalina

After the upgrade I tried to use Splashtop Wired XDisplay to connect my iPad as an extended monitor, but it would not connect.

On inspection, it seemed that Catalina was not allowing the Xdisplay Agent to be run.

I then uninstalled the old version and tried to install the current version on your web site (version 1.3.1.3).  However, Catalina stopped the installation and reported that "This package is incompatible with this version of macOS.  The package is trying to install content to the system volume".

Are you working on an update that is compatible with Catalina ?

If so, do you know when will it be released ?

I have been using this product for several years and thought that it was a very useful product. I am often in need of an extended monitor when I am away from my home office.

    Thanks
