Unable to uninstall or update Splashtop Streamer

Whenever I try to uninstall Splashtop. it crashes/freeze my computer. The computer will be unresponsive, even letting it sit there for an hour or so. No error message was displayed. You can only see the desktop, with everything frozen.

Totally there must be something wrong. Since you launched a new verison of Splashtop, it requested me to update. I didn't hesitate updating since I saw there were performance issues fixed in the new update. In the middle of the installation, my computer froze again.

I cannot find anyone else having the same problem with this though. The program works properly and was able to work with my Splashtop 2 app on my iPad.

Please help fix this problem.

I also have a problem trying to uninstall.  I got frustrated I could not update after many attempts that I decided to uninstall but when I tried this is what I get....

/bin/sh: /Users/Shared/SplashtopStreamer/SPLOG.txt: No such file or directory

I tried using CleanMyMac app but it also didn't work.

SRServiceDaemon & SRServiceAgent failed to quit.

Please help.

@Edpineda,
Have you ever tried these steps to uninstall streamer with uninstaller?
(0). Go(Menu on upper left)-->Downloads to open the Download folder
(1). D-click "Splashtop_Streamer_Mac_v2.3.0.9.dmg". (please download the latest version from our website www.splashtop.com)
(2). D-click "Uninstall Splashtop Streamer".
(3). Click "Open" if there's a warning message box prompted
(4). Input user password to continue the Running if system requests you.

(5). Restart your Mac
(6). Confirm Streamer is removed completely (no more Splashtop Streamer icon exists in LaunchPad).

Yes I have tried that but as I mentioned above a message pops claiming No such file or directory

/bin/sh: /Users/Shared/SplashtopStreamer/SPLOG.txt: No such file or directory

It won't uninstall. I tried using the app Clean My Mac to uninstall but there are two files that won't quit even when I force quit or manually tried to stop them from the activity monitor.

Please help.

@Edpineda,

Basically this error message won’t affect the uninstall result.

This should be a known issue we have recently fixed in next update.

Anyway, you can check again with the following steps to make sure all Splashtop related files have been removed.

1.     Go to /Library/LaunchDaemons/, remove all files starting with “com.splashtop.”

2.     Go to /Library/LaunchAgents/, remove all files starting with “com.splashtop.”

3.     Go to ~/Library/Preferences/, remove all files starting with “com.splashtop.”

4.     Go to ~/Library/Logs/, remove SPLog.txt, SPLog.txt.bak, and iris-log-pipe if they're still existing.

5.     Go to /System/Library/Extensions, remove SRXDisplayCard.kext and SRXFrameBufferConnector.kext if they're still existing.

6.     Go to /Library/Frameworks/, remove SRFrameBufferConnection.framework if it exists.

7.     Go to /Applications/, remove any app starting with “Splashtop Streamer.”

8.     Go to /Users/Shared, remove “SplashtopStreamer”.

9.     Reboot the system.

This should remove everything of Splashtop.

Attached is a bash shell script that will completely uninstall Splashtop Streamer from OSX according to Jaff.Kuo's instructions.

Its much safer than manually deleting the files.

I used the uninstaller - got the same error message as above.  Checked all the individual files, and they are all gone except for the application itself.  I cannot delete the Application because it is "In Use"    The Splashtop window is open on the desktop & when I put the cursor over it, it changes to the never-ending spinning color wheel.  Cannot close the window or turn off.  Nothing works.  Please help me get rid of this.

 Thank you.

Hydranix's script worked perfectly. Copied and pasted into Terminal. Manually restarted. A perfect uninstall. Many thanks.
