I want to be able to copy something on my remote Mac or PC running streamer, and paste that to my local PC. TeamViewer supports this. I would like to see SplashTop add this functionality.
Got to have copy and paste functions, PLEASE.
The latest Splashtop 2 for iOs and Android support copy/paste between device and computer, however, so far it's only for plain text copy/paste.
Copy and paste is a very basic feature and need of remote computing. Would like to see Splashtop able to copy and paste files.
No working copy paste. Deinstall as a result, back to VNC.
Deal breaker, no BS, a fundamental requirement out-the-box, no excuses to not having it. Software written 20 years ago can do this, Splashtop does not.
This basic feature appears to be still missing, such a shame as i have to keep switching between Splashtop and Teamviewer and i would rather just use Splashtop as video streams better.
Sorry for the inconvenience. If you are using Splashtop Personal for Windows, there is known issue using copy-paste funtion; re-copy couple times before pasting or re-build remote connection will help. Technical team will also include the fix in next formal release.
Yes i use Splashtop personal.
Despite numerous attempts at coping and pasting over the past year, i've never been able to get it to work once.
I'm glad it's now being focused on as it's such a fundamental function, thank you.
Since using Splashtop for the last few months I was easily able to copy & paste from my mac to my PC within Spashtop Personal, but recently it just stopped. I can't figure out how to get it working again! It's so annoying. I need an answer to it!

By our internal test, if you copy once during remote conenction and encounter failure case, just re-build this remote connection then re-do the copy-paste, it then should work. Does it still fail to work with same steps?
Copying and pasting text appears fine but copying and pasting files doesn't work, i'm guessing Splashtop doesn't support this and TeamViewer does.
I used a trial of the Business version and do not recall any issues with copy/paste. Though, it might be that I didn't try to use it (which seems very unlikely). Further analysis will have to wait for the Business version.
Here is more detailed information on the issue copying and pasting PLAIN/TEXT. I am using the Personal version, v2.6.00, on Windows 7 connecting to a Mac Yosemite version of the Streamer, v18.104.22.168:
I can copy from the remote, Mac machine (running Streamer) and paste to the local, Windows 7 client machine (running Personal).
I cannot copy from the local, Windows 7, client machine (running Personal) and paste to the remote, Mac machine (running Streamer).
Note that it is ambiguous as to what should be pasted when in the remote session. If both the local clipboard and remote clipboard have plain text data which one should be pasted?
I would recommend asking the user if then presses the normal Paste keystroke. Otherwise, have separate shortcut keys and menu items for 'Paste from remote clipboard' and 'Paste from local clipboard'.
Is the "Disallow copy/paste" setting that is available on the Business version defaulted to true (thus preventing copy/paste) on the Personal version?
I notice that you are still using quite old version of Streamer for Mac which should be the reason it fails to work in some cases. Please upgrade it to 22.214.171.124 (http://www.splashtop.com/downloads), it should work in all cases.
Copy/paste function is default "on" using the Personal version. You could turn it on or off using the Business version.

Copy and paste also stopped working for me yesterday. Completely uninstalled and reinstalled with current version of Personal version and streamer on remote and host. Will not work. Please advise.

Extremely annoying bug. Please fix ASAP! My usage requires a lot of text copy/paste. Samsung S4/S5 > Windows 7.
I too, am experiencing this problem. I use Splashtop on my Windows 10 desktop to connect with another computer in the same house. I used to be able to cut-and-paste text between my PC and the Splashtop client, but not anymore. This broke a week or two ago. I don't know if it was due to a Splashtop change, or something Microsoft did with Windows 10. But based on other reports, I'd guess it's a Splashtop issue.

Please help provide the timestamp you saw the issue, or you could reproduce the issue and let me know the time stamp.
We will check the backend's record according to the time stamps.

We need your help to generate debug logs:
1. Please make sure it is version 126.96.36.199 streamer installed on the target computer.2. Download and unzip the attachment.3. Replace the two files at the streamer install path which should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server.4. Reproduce the issue, then collect splog.txt at C:\Program Files (x86)\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server.

Why would we have 188.8.131.52 when the latest version of Splashtop Streamer (according to your software) is 184.108.40.206 (A)? I clicked CHECK FOR UPDATES, and was told I have the latest version. Could this be why people are having problems? You updated the streamer, and neglected to push an update to the clients? I'll update mine now, and see if it fixes copy-paste.
Ok. Updating to 220.127.116.11 didn't change anything. I've just added your patch, which changed the version to 18.104.22.168. Attaching the log file now.
Log file attached. After updating to the test version, 22.214.171.124 (A), I tried to copy text from client to streamer but it didn't work.

There is no time stamp, as it happens 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You broke Splashtop, presumably on the server end, unless there was a client update on September 21. Also, the log files you requested have time stamps. Perhaps you should learn how to read them...
We checked the log and are working on addressing the issue. I will keep you updated.
You both have multiple devices with Splashtop Personal app and the streamer installed, does the issue only happen on the particular combination or every cases using your devices?
The issue happens on ALL of my devices, no matter the combination of server/client.
same issue between windows 7 and Windows 10 windows pc since several days.
funny thing is if you try to do a CONTROL + ALT + printscreen (it take a screeshot and put it in the clipboard)
and you paste it in the client the paste screenshot is a small part of the window of the client
It crash the input of splashtop streamer on the server, you can see the server, but can't do anything.
you need to kill the client windows.
