I am unable to connect the computer to my Ipad

Have set up the splashtop streamer on the computer.  Downloaded Splashtop2 on my iPad.  My computer icon shows up on the iPad, but the message "Unable to Connect Please make sure your computer is on and Splashtop Streamer is running on your computer." shows up.  Can you help me?  thanks

@Tami Imai King,

Could you confirm or try the following items to help us clarify your case?
1. please make sure your computer is ON and Streamer is running with the same Splashtop account logged in. (same as logged-in on ipad)

2. Is there any proxy server setting up and force all computers going through it like a work network, in this case, Streamer won't be able to login with Splashtop account.

3. if there's no proxy, please try to open 3 ports(6783~6785) on your computer if it's win7(and restart PC) then try again.

4. if you were attempting to connect your ipad to your computer from different network, you still need to activate another feature Anywher Access Pack(AAP), please check this link for more info about AAP activation. (we can't see AAP purchase record on your Splashtop account)

How to open ports on win7?
Please check the section#1 in this link.

Hope this helps.

@Jefftyler63,

Have you logged in the same Splashtop account on your computer just as you logged in on your ipad? Splashtop 2 needs the same Splashtop account logged in on both client and streamer(status tab).

Maybe the Splashtop version on your laptop is v1, it doesn't require Splashtop account and able to discover the streamer on the same local network.

I am logged in to the same Splashtop account on both the host computer and ipad with Splashtop 2.  Please keep in mind that I am 3000 miles from my host PC and can only connect & see it when I log in from this laptop which is running my original free Splashtop.  I have not tried to install Splashtop 2 on this laptop as this is my last connection link to my home PC that I must preserve.  Again, I am working off my jefftyler63 account.

Do I presume correctly that the Splashtop Streamer installed on my host PC is the identical streamer for use from either my laptop or iPad?  And as I indicated, that is the account and computer that is visible and reachable from this laptop with the free Splashtop, but cannot be reached from the iPad with Splashtop 2 and your Access Anywhere service purchased last night.

Might a phone call help?  I can be reached at 619.865.7153.

I logged on a second time to my Splashtop streamer on the host computer and then was able to connect from the iPad 2 so I am now all set.  I have no idea why I ended up logged out.  Thanks for your assistance.

@Jonofancett,

I checked your Splashtop account "jonofancett@gmail.com" on our backend, and find there is no any Streamer log-in record. Please go to your target computer to make sure Streamer is installed with your Splashtop accout logged (you should find Splashtop icon at system tray), then see if it could work to establish remote sessions.

Connect Failed...Connect Failed...Connect Failed...Connect Failed...Connect Failed...

Shouldn't this be intuitive? What's the point of an app that is difficult for the general public to use?

@Thomas_lindley,

I found no streamer log-in record under your Splashtop account.

Please follow the following steps to establish a remote session:

1. Download the Splashtop Personal app on the device which you will remote from.
2. Install the streamer on the device which you will remote to.
3. Log in your Splashtop account at both Splashtop Personal and the streamer.
4. Then it will works.

You could download the packages from our official website: http://www.splashtop.com/downloads

@Jbarry,

I believe you are using Splashtop Classroom, but I am not sure what the issue was at this time.

Does it mean it can't connect to a device using Splashtop Classroom? Do you have the streamer installed on the target computer you want to remotely control? Is it in the computer list of the Splashtop Classroom app?
