This is the only feature that I currently would love to see. Doesn't need to be fancy. Could be something as simple as: drag'n'drop from client machine on the splashtop2 window -> files/folders get transfered to the target machine in a specific folder. Other way around could be: Right click on the splashtop2 try icon and select transfer files which opens a empty window with the text "drag here". Dragging the files would send them back to the client.
Ideally a file transfer dialog would be nice, but that might be a bit too much as a first step.
Another Splashtop app for this purpose is coming soon. Please stay tuned.
I would really like this option.
Very keen to get this asap, until then I need to use another remote desktop app
Splashtop FileFly was there on app store, if you have an ipad, welcome to have a try.
1. download/install FileFly app from app store on ipad
2. download FileFly Streamer from http://filefly.it/ (please note that this streamer is different from Splashtop 2 streamer)
They used to have FileHound for file transfer between iOS and Windows. Is this product still available? My customer will really love to see remote desktop integrated with file transfer. It's an important function for him.
Is there an Android app available for file transfer?
Put the file transfer feature into splash top NOT a separate app. Having to open two apps and jump back and forth between the two instead of the new feature just being integrated into the app you are already using to access the remote computer is NOT AT ALL USER FRIENDLY . I would expect many splashtop users to find an alternative app, a single app, with which they can control their remote computer AND transfer between the two. Transferring files seems like it would be one of the main reasons someone would want to use a remote connection app.
So, did we ever get a file transfer option for android?
Tc570 nailed it with the last sentence! I've been searching for a remote connection app that is easy to use and works with my multiple OS platforms. I thought I had found the answer with splashtop -- BUT WAIT -- holy cow, you can't facilitate a simple file copy between these securely connected devices???
Look - charge more money if you need, but without a simple file copy function this software is only half-baked for my needs (I suspect many others as well).
A file transfer would be useful, but I'd like to be able to stream media files from my pc for playback locally on my android device rather than my home pc playing the files and streaming the pc's screen which is a pita trying to drag and resize to fit the screen of my android device
Your supposed to better than the opposition, or so you claim.
So where is the simple file transfer facility?
This is a standard feature on most remote software.
Why cant splash top have it?
